Some time ago I made the mistake of buying a box of high velocity 22 LR. Not a bad idea except that I was using it to feed my NAA Mini Revolver.
Ouch. By comparison, the recoil on my 357 magnum snubby is gentle. So I learned a practical lesson. As the saying goes "good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment". Oh yes, there's the pilot's or skydiver's addendum: "...provided you survive the bad judgment".

Having one of those, I shall make the appropriate mental note on ammo selection.

I haven't shot a 22 (I think it was LR) since summer camp in 1958-ish. :-)
