I live in an R-leaning part of Michigan. I would estimate that I could have filled an egg crate with direct mail political ads over the past 3 months. I'm not a big radio or tv user, but every commercial has had at least one political ad. Lawn signs don't appear more or less than 2020.
Just logical for the campaigns to work the swing states. The race for President in FL was always a guess until almost election night. Whereas, CA and NY are solidly Democrat. So, if a campaign is going to spend money, why do it in a state they are sure to win or lose?
Then again, this year Trump was campaigning in NY, and apparently Harris is going to be in Houston, TX later this week.
And around my area, the Presidential race is almost an afterthought. No ads, no flyers, minimal lawn signs. The race for House, totally different altogether. I get a handful of flyers every day, and I cannot turn on any electronic device without getting an ad. I swear, my vacuum told me how to vote the other day.
Election overload is happening, just not near you.
As a resident of a Blue state I have the same but opposite vibe. Here in upstate NY my vote won’t matter so there’s no point in competing for it. My CONgressional critter will be running unopposed, and the local races are the only ones getting little attention. I bet folks is PA are enjoying their moment in the spotlight though.
Missouri is hopeless for the Democrats but the two big blue strongholds are busy bees and seem to hope somehow to save the day. It would take a stone cold miracle to accomplish it though. Other than a sudden proliferation of really tiny Harris signs of every description I haven’t seen printed material re: the federal election; I don’t watch TV so I have no idea what’s going on there.

Not being paranoid.
