If he were above board, well, $3000 over 10 years is $300 per year, or $25 per month. THEY (she's not innocent in all this) have money for 4 children but can't save 25 bucks a month to make him legal? Yeah, something smells.
Like many illegals, he just wanted the honey from thee US honeycomb. He did not want to become an 'American'. I have met several just like him. One told me that after he had been here almost 20 years his wife finally talked him into getting a 'green card'. He did not care one whit about being an American. Just enjoyed the benefits of living here. Piss on 'em.
I need to re-calibrate my collection of B.S. meters. They're currently red-lined 24/7 and alarms go off every time the talking heads open their mouths.
Maybe I just need to add a filter to tune out the talking heads. I already know they're full of s#!t. I want my B.S. meters to tell me when other things are full of it, too.
Disney had an excellent kids show about a decade ago called "Phineas & Ferb". Great show. In one episode the boys built a device that measures cuteness, and Isabella, the girl from down the street, was upset that her presence didn't even make it twitch. (She is quite adorable.) At the end, Phineas says they put a filter on it so her cuteness wouldn't break it. He takes the filter off, and the thing overloads and explodes as soon as it detects her, which both made her very happy and (as the constant running gag) removed the evidence so their older sister couldn't bust them to Mom.
But that's where my B.S. meters are. The ambient talking-head B.S. is so thick that they're always going off, so they're useless for when I really need them. :D
I always love how the illegals and their cohorts are always going "I figured they was [sic] looking for criminals," as if **breaking immigration laws** doesn't count.
It's amazing how you become a victim when you get caught. I feel for his family, but not a whole lot. His and his spouse's decision to go the lawless route got him where he is. If the family is so put out by his possible deportation, they can always join him in Mexico until he's eligible to return (if ever).
Very few people think deeply enough in decisions to realize that the bed you make is probably where you will sleep.
Which translates to someone already has done a cursory dig into this guy's past and found some sketchy stuff.

The more the media screams about this stuff, the more BS meters I need to buy.

Sounds to me like you have the self-calibrating model. Nice!
Yes, but they're getting terribly annoying. LOL!

See, there's your problem. You should have gone for the "high" (aka Hunter) range option. :-)

I really enjoy your writing. Thanks!
