Where did the Abortion Backers fail?

My uniformed opinion and a warning for Gun Rights supporters.

Let’s start on where I stand on abortion. Still after some decades, I believe abortion should be legal for cases of incest, rape and when the life of the mother is in jeopardy. I had to do adjustments when life taught me about immoral people being assholes to avoid responsibility, but I still believe in those three conditions. I now believe that in the cases of incest and rape, there has to be a formal police complaint attached to the procedure and the reason is twofold: the perpetrators of such crimes need to be taken out of circulation, and they must pay for their crimes and also because if a woman chooses to perjure herself and accuse an innocent person in order to cover for her mistake and not take responsibility for her actions, she should be removed from society and have her spend time in a penal institution.

That brings abortion to save a mother’s life. I believe that here is one of the reasons abortion right supporters started to lose ground and not because they did not care about mother surviving but because the meaning of the words got twisted around and it went from saving the mother’s life to saving a woman’s life lifestyle as in not having to make a change in her life to accept the life growing inside her. One thing is to avoid a woman dying of an ectopic pregnancy or any other complication brought to by the pregnancy and another is snuffing a life because it will interrupt the woman from having the body to wear that cute bikini or having to sacrifice weekends romping with Chad in a B&B in the country because she would have to take care of the critter. At some point, we lost as society the need to be responsible for our actions and accept the consequences and we found it acceptable to take extreme measures to maintain an elevated level of comfort without moral attachments.

And the other reason I believe Abortion supporters lost all the ground they achieved in Roe v. Wade was that they sat on their laurels and never thought to heed the warning that technology and medicine would catch up and surpass their points. Rather than secure abortion rights state by state, they confided that the SCOTUS decision would be eternal and unmovable even when it was passed, it was warned that down the road the decision would be reversed and sent to the states to be defined. It took almost half a century, but it did happen and now the pendulum swung brutally to the other side and lots of crying ensued followed by copious amounts of verbal defecation that will not solve any issues and only hardens the resolution of the opposite team. It was laziness that killed abortion partisanship, not any Handmaid’s Tale fantasy bad guys.

And let me retake advances in technology and medicine which led to the ability to keep a fetus alive longer inside and even outside the womb. We went from premature babies in the 60s having a 70 to 80% of dying to the exact opposite now. Medicine has advanced so much that we even perform delicate heart surgeries to babies in womb with very little or no issues for the mother. And when regular folks see this and then hear an extreme abortion advocate referring to the baby as a “clump of cells” you will have people react in disgust and chip away any support the cause may had.

And then there is the prickly issue of contraception. Once again, Abortion advocates are still reding the 60s and 70s playbook and bring forward the issue of unwanted and unplanned pregnancies as an excuse for an abortion. But contraception has also advanced by leaps and bounds and with very few exceptions, the amount and variety of methods to avoid pregnancy make that old playbook obsolete and actually misguiding to the point of perjury. I am of those with the unkind notion that women that wave this excuse are simply trying to find a way to explain their lack of responsibility on preparing against a pregnancy. And yes, no contraceptive method is 100% effective, but if the pill is proven to be 99% percent on the money and 60 women out of a hundred claiming to be taking it suddenly show up pregnant, you have to wonder who is bullshitting who and after these many years, I will have to vote for lies that people tell to excuse unwanted outcomes.

And the last point I wanted to address is that the Abortion Advocates failed to rein-in or simply shun the Crazies in their midst. When you have deranged idiots standing in front of a state’s legislature demanding abortion to be legal and free up to full term and right before delivery, that is some Chinese Communist Party eugenics crap right there that was never going to be accepted by the other side and probably revolted the bejesus out of a lot of pro-abortion people too. But these people were allowed not only to speak in behalf of the movement but became their eventual figure heads in some cases because crazy will out-energy common sense every time till they burn themselves, but by then, it may be too late to fix the damage they caused.

Again, the above statements are my uniformed opinion and I am sure I will generate enough crappy comments, but that will be the right of the commenters and as long as they follow the Gold Rule of “Do Not Be A Dick”, I will be happy to read them.

And also, let this be a warning for Gun Owners who are letting be themselves be lulled into a sense of triumph and then inactivity, especially after the Bruen decision: Never stop improving your defenses. It is not only necessary to rid of your state’s gun control laws, but to substitute them with strong Pro Second Amendment and Pro Self Defense laws. Never allow the legal shelves to be empty because somebody will always be tempted to fill them with something contrary to our wishes and our rights. When you fill those shelves, you force the opposition to work twice or three times harder to get their way and t gives us advanced warning of what they intend. If you do not understand how fragile a good SCOTUS can be and how now the Oppositions is willing to pervert it, you have been asleep these last four years and probably longer.

And be smart about presenting our side and our causes. Do not let what I call the “Chest Thumpers” (MUH RIGHTS! NO COMPROMISE! WE WANTS100)% NOW OR FUCK YOU!) speak for you or try to influence legislators because they will screw up anything they touch and convert against us anybody they speak with. Those who come from my old blog will remember how bad Chest Thumpers managed to screw up Open Carry in Florida time and time again and the state is one of the few which still specifically has laws against it and we can’t seem to get rid of it because public opinion only sees idjits going fishing armed openly (which is legal) to the local pier kitted up like they are going to go against a Mexican Drug cartel rather than catching pompano for supper.

And please, participate in the political process. Be involved, call politicians, attend rallies, testify in the legislature. Don’t stay at home and bitch in social media or a gun forum (Do they still exist) because the government is not giving you yet a surplus Grease Gun and a crate of .45 ACP for free.
