OPD Range Fun - It was hard to find a day w/o rain, but we had one the other day where our Firearms Staff conducted a plain clothes carry course for investigators and agents of OPD, along with several outside agencies to come train. Busy range day so it had to be held on the rifle range instead of the pistol range. This course even included firing from seated positions, with partners, and in groups. Huge shout out to our Firearms Instructors on another great course. In attendance were Law Enforcement from Owasso Police, Tulsa Fire Department (Fire Marshals), Tulsa Court Services, Oklahoma Inspector Generals Office, Wewoka Police, Wagoner County and others. Some of the photos they posted made me cringe but I am not surprised.
For all intents and purposes, they are shooting live ammunition with frigging people downrange!
I know self-healing dummies cost money and there is only so much money for training, but do you know what is really expensive? Lawsuits, workman compensation and loss of your reputation. Never mind the last one, I believe it is already done for.
