With majorities in the House and Senate, the Republicans should be able to repeal whatever legislation allows this bullshit temporary protected status. There should be no such thing as a law or regulation that allows you to break the law. That's why we have a constitution. Send these SOBs back where they came from, or, as you said, treat them to free "plomo".
Yes, with majorities in the House and Senate, and the Oval Office, the Republicans SHOULD be able to repeal "Temporary Protected Status".
The question is, will they? And the answer is, probably not. Neither major party wants to get rid of illegal immigrants. Democrats want an entrenched voter base, Republicans want cheap labor for their big-business friends and donors.
Same as with the ACA/Obamacare. Dems want the win, Reps have donors in the health care industry that benefit. So it's never going away. All those "attempts" to repeal it came when they knew damn well it would fail one chamber or the other, or not get signed. When the GOP has the "trifecta" -- control of House, Senate, and White House -- suddenly ACA repeal bills dry up like LA County in fire season. (Much like CCW reciprocity bills and NFA repeal bills, too....)
Turns out, the GOP can virtue signal just as well as the Dems.
Ah, but let us not forget that even when the Rs have had the giant hammer in their hands it has been objectively evidenced that it is in their DNA to play nice, be gentlemanly, and "fight" by the Marquess of Queensberry rules. Never mind that the Ds in the previous rounds have been head butting, kicking, groin thumping, and eye gouging. Trump may be the great exception because he is not a lifelong politician, but he is not the sole wielder of the hammer. It remains to be seen, despite Trump and his cabinet members, what can actually get done by a House and Senate, the *actual lawmakers* who have historically acted like reluctant milquetoast combatants.
Trump ALSO has a phone and a pen. EO on Day One ordering all of them deported, all this sanctuary shit by the Alphabet Bois and states rescinded. If DHS drags their feet, zero out their budget and end it. The US should never have ever set up a "Dept. of Homeland Security" anyway.

And then the reversal will be challenged in court, and by the time that's fought through the 18 months would have gone by.
The progressive left play this game very well.
One can guess that the Tom Homan led ICE will target them for rehoming if they engage in criminal activity. Not to worry, Tren 'd Argua will.

Sorry to nitpick, but I think you have mis spelled “Ciao Bribem”.
But, it seems to commonly be mis spelled.

Oops: Jhiao, not Ciao.
