Borepatch: 40,000 Internet-connected cameras have no security
So if you get any of these God forsaken things, look online on how to secure them before you install them. You can get most manuals in PDF - although I expect a lot of them won't go deep into the issue. For example, I can't find a single Youtube video on how to set up a Ring doorbell securely.
I believe that there is no real way to secure those things which is why I refuse to have any cameras inside the house. The only exception is the one inside the Garage, but other than watching us get the car in and out and getting groceries out of the second fridge, they are not getting a darn thing else.
i never understood everyone putting cameras hooked up to the internet in their home… that and appliances hooked to the friggin internet..
Technology. Its all good, until it ain't.
What did we ever do before technology came along to make our lives better?
