I suspect you would be more accurate, Miguel.

(And you need to watch those nuns... many are deadly with rulers in CQB and markswomen with chalkboard erasers at 20 paces.)

At least they were aware of the crossfire... Usually a bunch of cops all end up in a circle pointing guns at one another.

Haha. I thought for sure that the cop hit him. He's a lucky dude, to be sure, but he doesn't like a nice guy, either. I believe most of us are better shots than this, though. Everyone should be able to defend themselves because the police are not everywhere. Cool post, Miguel.

Wonder if they checked that black pickup across the intersection for injuries.

Trouble acquiring the red dot there Hoss?

How trained are they? Mas once shot a police qualifier (I don't recall which State) blindfolded. And passed. Yeah, not so hard to qualify.

I was a member of one of the largest police review boards in the country and know that 70 percent of Law Enforcement are not trained enough or capable enough to have firearms. Especially in a nerve-racking life or death shoot situation.

The officers of that same police department also agreed with me and in many situations were FORCED to qualify officers with rank because of pressure from superiors.

They were especially upset with some of the women who they disqualified… until higher ranking officers intervened like... "Sergeant, she WILL PASS HER ANNUAL FIREARMS QUALIFICATION! Do you understand me?!

At one time there was a study done of NYPD and a nationwide study of PD shootings by the FBI. They found 80% of rounds fired DID NOT hit their intended targets. This has improved over time, mostly due to immersive shoot/don’t simulators and simunition force-on-force training. I prefer simunition, because you know the other guy will shoot you and it will fucking hurt. It also verified for me that you are likely to be shot in the hand or arm holding the gun, as that happened to me three times. Unfortunately, this sort of training is very expensive, is not often available and it or shoot house training is seldom used as a qualification course.

And he had a red-dot! If he bothered to use it, he could have done the job -- whatever "the job was -- within the first few shots.

I think the takeaway here is, it doesn't matter what sights or gizmos or training you give the police, when sh!t goes sideways they're gonna panic and mag dump.

If he were a normal person, there's over two dozen rounds, each with a lawyer attached. But he's a cop, so "qualified immunity", in all likelihood.

There's no context in the video. Do we even know what this was all about? What justified a double-mag-dump at a fleeing vehicle?
