Well, I certainly can't. But then I'm not part of the charity grift complex.

Because it helps those poor, downtrodden, and disgustingly wealthy and well-connected elites fund their pet projects and take 6- or 7-figure salaries for doing nothing?

Because every dollar of your tax money that USAID contributes to Leftist causes is a dollar George Soros and Mike Bloomberg don't have to donate?

Because every dollar that USAID contributes to pro-freedom and pro-Constitution causes is a dollar that ... um ... wait ... has USAID ever knowingly contributed to real pro-freedom causes?

Yeah, I got nothin'.

I once saw a claim that leftists are more charitable. That wasn't true, because the left's notion of charity is to give away someone else's money. It isn't charity unless it involves your own money.

That, in spades, is the issue with USAID: it lets politicians, or worse yet, unaccountable bureaucrats, pretend to be benevolent at our expense.

Leftists are more charitable with your money. Never theirs.

in some ways, I like the idea of USAID. Better to reach out with a carrot, then to start off with the stick. Help out the average person in a less developed country and build good will toward the USA.

How does forcing LGBTQ rights and awareness on muslim countries meet that goal?

And, I have to agree with the leftists on one front. It would be better to refine the mission of USAID and focus it on what matters (HINT: Not woke crap. How about clean water in remote villages instead?) But sometimes you have to destroy before you can rebuild. And, maybe a new version of USAID will arise from the ashes of this.
