And you know every one of these cosplayers has a well worn copy of 50 Shades hidden in their nightstand.

They tried the whole 'It's ok, you can vote against your husband, we'll protect you" bit during the election and it backfired spectacularly.

In the lefty mind, women are strong and independent, unless they think differently than the leftist mantra, then they need to be re-educated because they're weak and oppressed.

Miguel: bravo. TDW-Mark II (product improved version) shoots better than I do. She is NOT "in the sh!t business": she neither talks it, nor takes it. She is a great partner. My weak points correlate well with her strengths.

Been looking for a female companion like that all my life. They ain't too common, thats for sure! When you find one, treasure her and treat her with all your respect and love.

Mrs B shares some of those characteristics, albeit she was born in Texas.

Every single day I say a prayer of thanks that I found her. Specifically the test pilot's prayer: Dear God, please don't let me screw this up! (Apparently Ma B says the same prayer - she really likes my wife.)

The Handmaid's Tale has that imagery in it. Women are either for breeding, housekeeping, or prostitution. There are a few "wives" but they are mainly for show. Hosting tea parties kind of thing.

Which reflects conservative ideals in no way whatsoever.

Now, if anyone can tell us what, exactly conservatives are pushing for that warrants this kind of playacting? Does President Trump think women should be barefoot and pregnant? Show me where anything even remotely like that is said or hinted at. Maybe it is because he opposes men competing against women in HS and college sports? Not sure how that translates into oppressing women, but if they say so.

It was the _Dobbs_ decision from SCOTUS. The one that "overturned" _Roe v. Wade_.

It happened on Trump's watch, with three Justices appointed by Trump, so it's _obviously_ Trump's intentional doing.

The implication is that without the "right" to abortion, women will be reduced to involuntary breeding stock and have zero voice in what happens with their bodies or reproductive systems.

That the dystopia depicted is not now, nor ever was, a conservative value or desire, never seems to matter. I suspect the whole thing is a giant Freudian slip, and deep down, Margaret Atwood envisions herself in a "wife" role: wealthy and free to host tea parties among the social elite, while outsourcing pregnancy and child-bearing to "lesser" women -- whether they want to or not.

Oh. You're right. That is exactly one of the progressive / liberal points of view. That all that icky pregnancy and child-bearing should be outsourced to the less valuable women. The slaves with no agency.

I was just seeing it as some kind of BDSM fantasy. I mean, I think it's that too, to some of them.

When they want BDSM fantasy, they read _50 Shades_. LOL!

What's interesting to me is that -- based on their "literature" -- their dystopian and s*xual fantasies are pretty much the same, and only differ in degree. They WANT the power to have no power (which doesn't makes sense until you think about it). They WANT to be relieved of decision-making responsibility and outsource that to others; effectively, they want to be controlled.

But they also want the power to control YOU. Directly if they can, by proxy (read: by government) if they must.

And therein lies the Leftist paradox: They want to control you, but they refuse to control themselves and would have others do it for them.

They see _The Handmaid's Tale_ as "dystopian", but at the same time they would enforce that social dynamic in a heartbeat, as long as THEY get to be the wealthy elite "wives", and YOU are the titular handmaid.

The fact that, if it ever did happen, the vast majority of them would become "handmaids" because there aren't enough "wife" positions available, doesn't seem to occur to them. They ALL expect to be the "Top 1%" -- an obvious mathematical impossibility. (Must be the New Math.)

Agree completely. The left is as crazy as an outhouse rat, and their attempts to show out demonstrate it. It's bad enough their cosplay demeans conservative women, it also demonstrates their slavish adherence to failed socialist/communist policies and their inability to rationally look at a situation and make a decision. The policies President Trump is following as concerns immigration are virtually the same as those Obama followed. The only difference is it's us not them.

For a group that doesn't want children they're awfully critical of the only people who will have families and obey the law.
