Two states are about to cut their noses to spite President-re-elect Trump.

Just two days after being elected governor, Attorney General Bob Ferguson told reporters at a press conference Thursday he is preparing his successor, Attorney General-elect Nick Brown, for potential litigation against the incoming Donald Trump administration.
Flanked by a group of state lawyers, Ferguson said he was “concerned” about Trump’s expected policies and campaign promises, such as mass deportations, restricting abortion rights and ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA is an Obama-era program that has prevented the deportation of children who were brought into the nation illegally.

SACRAMENTO — California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, a fierce critic of former President Donald Trump, on Thursday called for lawmakers to convene a special session ahead of another Trump presidency to safeguard the state’s progressive policies. Meanwhile, attorneys general in blue states across the country announced they were also gearing up for a legal fight.

Newsom’s office told The Associated Press that the governor and lawmakers are ready to “Trump-proof” California’s state laws. He called on the Legislature to meet in December and give the attorney general’s office more funding to fight federal challenges but did not give specifics.
I can imagine the clusterflock of seagulls when millions off illegals decide that rather than return to Mexico, they will rather head to these two “sanctuary” states. In fact, they should start now.
And of course, the states will be forced to raise taxes, first to the ultra-wealthy and then descend down the scale till they are forced to cut down benefits and services to pay for the roof and sustenance of the poor undocumented better-life seekers.
Good news for the illegals moving to those states: It is a short jump back to Mexico from California and the same from Washington to the People’s Republic of Canada.
I read something about illegals heading to Canada.
Canada has a population of around 40 million people,.compared to around 330 in the US.
So, assuming the same proportion of wave earners to total population in US and Canada, and equivalent levels of benefits, each illegal in Canada will take a bit over 8x the per-capita "contribution" to sustain. And the same rate of influx means the illegal:citizen ratio goes up much faster.
This will not be fun for the Canadians if the process takes off.
Why, the good, kind, tolerant Progressive Elites of those blue States should open their bank accounts and comfy homes to the "documentation challenged". Order up a few more Blue Aprons to satisfy their hunger as well.
