Maybe not society as in the big context of the nation, but still, we Gun Owners are indeed a nice bunch of people and that comes about my analyzing the 9th Annual East TN Blogshoot.
I already stated that we probably had close to if not more than 100 firearms present, some of them in the NFA category and I have no idea how many rounds of ammunition. Easily we are talking over $50,000 worth of hardware and flyingware* and total strangers came to other strangers and asked them “Do you want to shoot this? It is fun!”
Immediate feedback was offered whether positive or negative and nobody got butthurt because their toys were not the belle of the ball. Some actually brought some seriously weird stuff more for the “WTF is that?” factor and a good laugh than actual performance.
And at the end of the day, we parted in a very good mood, tired and stinking of burnt propellant. And I am willing to bet I am not the only one who is already planning to come back next year’s blogshoot or attend similar gathering in the future.
I am proud of being part of this society.
Flyingware: ammunition.
how does one get invited????
I’ve often thought that Gun Folks are the nicest folks too.
