The San Francisco by the Cumberland is not really doing well, at least visibly. As you drive by different neighborhoods and locales, you start to see budding examples of the outright decay seen in more “sophisticated” Metropolis that Nashville leaders appear to be enamored of: Panhandlers, trash, abandoned living-in vehicles near known tourist attractions, machines dispensing free Narcan to the “unhoused” who gather in numbers nearby.

And since a lot of newcomers are from Blue cities, the already embedded custom of not calling the cops for crimes either because they fear the “snitches get stitches” or simply figure the majority crime committed against them won’t be solved, they simply decide not to report crime. Cue happy music for White Shirts to dance and proclaim crime is down and their “gentle” approach is working!

And I believe that sexual assaults will also drop in the next two years but for the wrong reasons: once the word is out that rapists are still on the prowl and cops can’t catch them, women unfortunately will not seek justice and will not bother to report their attacks.
