NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Venezuelan citizen who was arrested earlier this month for allegedly running a brothel out of an Antioch residence is now facing a federal gun charge.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee announced Friday that 28-year-old Elmer Humberto Aparicio Castillo, of Nashville, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by an illegal alien.
…
After all suspects were apprehended, officers and agents began a “safety sweep.”That search produced a Glock 23 and a Gen4 .40 caliber pistol. The pistol had an extended magazine with a maximum capacity of 31 rounds which was loaded with 19 9mm rounds, the Attorney’s Office said.

But wait, there is more unchecked laziness.
There were not 2 firearms found at the house but one. This is the official release from the DOJ which was almost copied verbatim.
My guess is that the news intern decided to get a bit creative and insert the extra word to make the story a bit butchier.
I am trying to figure out if it is possible to have an extended mag for 9mm properly inserted in a G23 or if you can somehow by magic and chewing gum maintain 9mm rounds inside an .40 S&W extended mag. So far, my brain hasn’t been able to come up with an answer and I doubt there is one.
But never forget these are the people who know better than us about guns and should be allowed to tell us how to own them.
My poor Dad, in the dark, bear getting into his beehives, ran out barefoot in his skivvies trying to load his revolver. Turns out 9mm rounds just fall out of a 44 magnum chamber. Mom had handed him a handful of the wrong ammo as he went out the door.
I believe you can put 22/23 magazines into a 19; you can build a Polymer80 frame, for instance, for 9mm, .40S&W or 357 SIG and the only real difference is the ejector. (And even that doesn't seem to be a very big deal most of the time.) I think the only real dimensional change as far as internals, is when you go up to .45ACP or 10mm. That's a different frame size.
You can also chamber a 9mm into a 40S&W, and it *might* "headspace" by being held to the bolt face by the extractor. It might even fire. Probably wouldn't hurt anything from what I've read (although I would not suggest trying it), but the ballistics would be, ah, degraded at best.
