Mexico is currently testing a cell phone app that will allow illegal aliens to warn relatives and a local Mexican consulate that they are about to be detained. “In case you find yourself in a situation where detention is imminent, you push the alert button, and that sends a signal to the nearest consulate," said Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Mexico’s secretary of foreign affairs.
Mexico estimates there are about 4.8 million Mexican citizens in the U.S. illegally, according to the Associated Press.
Years ago, I worked at a racetrack in Florida and about 90% workers at the barn side of things were illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America. One day, A rumor spread that the Migra was going to do a raid in the facility, and I arrived to see people with bundles of belongings attached to trucks, cars, bicycles and even on their back, exiting the locale like they were Hezbollah, and the Israeli army was half a block behind. There was almost nobody left to take care of the horses and the only saving grace was that there were no races scheduled that day. It took a couple more days to get people back and things running again.
No imagine the same application of rumor happening state-wide or even nation-wide and millions hitting on that app hoping to be saved by the Mexican consulate.
Thanks for the shout out!
Don't dis the App! It may be a good thing.
