Arm yourself. Which means prepare your mind for reality. Discern the area you occupy. Pay attention to others. Dont assume its all sheeple and rainbows. Teach your mind the smooth transition from relaxed alert to "ere now, wots dis?" Go learn a combative where you hit and get hit. Make it all pleasant and even fun. When the stuff hits the fan, act. Survive.

It's that they don't 'want' to learn. They want to hate Trump/Republicans/Conservatives. Even though the shooting happened under Bummer's watch, in their mind it's Trump's fault.

There's a reason for the term sheeple. They don't want to be bothered changing themselves to that reality. Through history the majority have not been fighters.

Graham killhouse rules. Nobody is coming to save you, in any clinically relevant timeframe. Everything is your responsibility. Save who needs saving. Kill who needs killing. Always be working.

Mr. Rauch is right.

We have all been there. You go out with friends, and that occupies 100% of your headspace. Thankfully, terrorist attacks of this nature are not as frequent as they could be, so most of the time... you are OK. But, even if it is not a planned attack, do not get so complacent that you ignore a small argument at the next table and it escalates into a fight that disrupts yours. (Actually happened to us once. Just spilled drinks in our direction, but it was enough to ruin a good evening.)

.

And, the older I get, the more I understand the reality of "No one is coming to save you, and you are your own first responder."

It is also worth pointing out that the Pulse massacre was the defining moment that brought about the creation by Erin Palette of Operation Blazing Sword. And that served to demonstrate that there are a great many gun owners, and gun instructors, eager to support the right of all Americans, including queer ones, to defend themselves with suitable tools.
