I tag myself as Conservative with some libertarian ideas and the very occasional retrograde to some lefty industrialization I had in my teen years in a country who was split between Social Democrats and Social Christians. But one thing it became obvious as I got older was the fact that governments meddling in peoples’ lives would screw up something as simple as sugar and cold water on summer day.
Reading reactions in X/Twitter of people losing their ever-loving gray matter because we no longer will have the infallible guidance of government-appointed “experts” and they are predicting all kinds of apocalyptic happenings in the days to come.
People, we are talking government “experts”, mostly individuals that could not make it in the open job market because they sucked so much, nobody would hire them and had to settle for a GS classification.
We are told we need people like the ATF director who admits he is not a great firearms expert and cannot define what an “assault weapon” is. Does anybody remember what the experts told us at the beginning of the COVID Theater? 15 Days to Slow the Spread! If you have a question about paying your taxes, call IRS for an answer, you may get the wrong information and it is not their fault but yours for not doing it right.
Ask any Veteran about how well run is the V.A system by the government experts and be ready to hear a cascade of insults directed to that particular program. Do I even bother going into the FDA and their regulations which force billions of dollars of expenditure and years of delay in the release of new drugs…. of course unless there is an epidemic and we “need” the stuff right now.
We are people of the Gun World, so we know, and we tell those coming into the culture NOT to trust the “experts” Cops and Journalists when it comes to matters of Self Defense lest they end in jail.
Enviromental experts have been telling us since the late 70s that the world will end in ten years, yet we are still here. There is a movement of “experts” that seriously wants to eradicate all traces of carbon dioxide from our atmosphere even though is one of the main components that keep plant life in our planet. Even yesterday there were "experts” on TV bemoaning that there is a major hurricane coming threatening us and just a few weeks after those storms that flooded South Florida. That these happens every frigging year and there is nothing much that can be done but nut up and deal with apparently never made it in the brains of the “experts.”
Back to those bemoaning the Death of Chevron: At first, I believed that lot of those complains were because politics, but after reading for a while, these are creatures who are truly scared of having to make their own decisions and rather have somebody herding them in what they hope is a good direction. They need a date in the carton of milk because they do not trust their nose to tell them if it went bad and require a warning in the packet of silica gel telling them it is not edible. They are suffering from a version of the Stockholm syndrome based on regulatory safeties.
Me? Let me cut myself with a new blade, burn a finger and even get the runs from a bad piece of cheese. And also leave me the hell alone.
Reminder for this comment.
Liberals and leftists are two very different creatures.
Now, liberals should be thrilled the Chevron Doctrine is no more. Every time an environmental group went up against a Federal Agency, they had a massive fight on their hands because of Chevron. If the FAA needed to destroy critical habitat in order to ensure aviation safety, well... the courts deferred to their expertise, and the greenies could not question the need. Now, the agency is no longer considered the expert. They now have the burden of proof to demonstrate the need cannot be met any other way.
Which is EXACTLY why the leftists are so outraged. How dare the average person question the wisdom of the all powerful state?
congress has loved not having to make the laws. They are 100% for the beaurocacy (sp) as that way they do not make decisions and get to keep their phony balony jobs.
On the note of people doing their own without governemnt oversight, it is hard to make decisions. Plus they do not understand some one being different. One extended family memeber was loving the lack of regulations and building codes where they were, but could not stand that a guy down the road was "doing it wrong and there needs to be a regulation". I pointed out he might feel the same as you about you, and she just did not get it.
