The Statute of Limitations On That Expired A Long Time Ago.
The usual amount of bemoaning and sleeve-tearing id happening among the Liberals and other whiners about the attack on Iran’s regime. And of course, the first thing you will hear from the alleged “Intelligentsia” is how the CIA in 1953 backed a coup that led to the imposition of Sha Reza Pahlavi and the horrendous misdeeds of the Savak Security Police which led to the coup of 1979 and the raise of Islamism and Khomeini.
But as usual, they stop there and fail to acknowledge the historical record of that takeover. If the Sha and Savak were bad, the Islamic regime has been several orders of magnitude worse. Iran went from a Arab country that was ready to lead by example as great economy and culture, to a backwater regressive country led by the worst humankind had to offer, was the one constant in the creation of permanent instability in the region and was happy to support and finance terrorist groups that killed all kinds of people without consideration.
I understand why the keep bringing the 1953 coup, it is nothing more than trying to shame the West into inaction reminding them of what they did wrong almost three quarters of a century ago, but the current occupant of the White House does not care for the shame game and did something none of their predecessors had the guts to do.
To pretend that Iran is somehow harmless and only engaging in a self-defensive posture or reacting to a misdeed that happened so long ago is suicidal stupidity. And, of course, a great dose of TDS is also influencing many negative reactions from politicians and celebrity dumbasses. Yet, Iranians everywhere in the planet seem to be celebrating the possibility of a Mullah-Less Persia much to the dismay of the “experts”.
But in the incoming weeks, you will be told by “Your Betters” in the Media that the people above are wrong to celebrate and that the old status quo was better for everybody. Why? Don’t ask, your little brain could not comprehend it which is why they call themselves better than you.
It's now easy to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Just check which flag they are carrying: the islamist flag with the funny symbol on the middle (a stylized peacock?) or the traditional flag with the lion and sun that you see in all the cheering crowd photos you showed.
Nit: Iran is not an Arab country, never was. Its history goes back many centuries further than anything Arab. In fact, some of the most memorable events in history involved Persia. Remember "Μολὼν λαβέ" ? That was from the ancient Greeks doing battle with the Persians.
I freely admit to saying "focus on the US" prior to our current actions over there. Now that the bell is rung, whining about what could've been is the greatest indicator of cowardice available. If action is needed, act decisively, learn from any mistakes, and keep trucking on with the new information. I'd tell them to be quiet, but they out themselves so well with this drivel, that I take it as a good indicator of who I should take seriously vs those that need some more education.
