remember the old days when cops were called “police” or “peace officers”?? somewhere along the way it became LEO - law ENFORCEMENT officers.. the job is to enforce the law, ie arrest people…

in my state they can and do lie during testimony and its not against the law.

My personal experience has been that police officers frequently do not know or understand specific laws. This is also often true of County and State Bureaucrats. It is more work to study the law or regulation, but when you do you will find that you were given bad information by an authority figure.
