Second ... They don't care if they're correct, or if they sound like idiots to people who actually know a smidgeon of history. They're just, as Miguel points out, going for outrage any way they can. And if the outragee is an historically illiterate dolt they can goad into doing something vile, so much the better.
After all, when you're chumming for monsters, you don't care if the monsters aren't very bright and not well educated.
(Edited to add: it's the monsters they aren't going for intentionally they should be worrying about.)
Anyone could also go to any flag company web site and see the name of the flag. I have a 22-foot above ground pole and fly three flags -- 3x6 current Stars and Stripes, 3x5 any one of an assorted collection of historic U.S. flags, and 2x4 POW/MIA. In close to 20 years I've never had anyone question or comment on the historic flags. Not sue if that indicates indifference or knowledge. Heh.
BTW, on Veterans Day I fly 2x3 of each service with the POW/MIA below. The POW/MIA touches the halyard cleat! On service birthdays I add that service flag to the usual mix.
just how retarded do you have to be before stars-in-a-circle and stripes, remotely resembles stars-and-bars-in-an-"X"? (sheesh!)
And, so it seems, these idjits are now muscling up about armed resistance?
(a) I pray it is all talk. I cannot imagine anyone with a lick of sense wants "that smoke" (as the kids are wont to say) (or, so I hear), and (b) Might develop, rather rapidly, into something that the violence fetishists neither want, nor imagine.
Couple things.
First, Miguel, you aren't the target audience.

If my old and somewhat dysfunctional brain is not decieving me; this ain't a Confederate States of America flag, of any type.
A complete catastrophic collapse of the American Pblik Skool Sistm.
That system hasn't collapsed. It has been repurposed. This is Gramscian damage.

Remember, these are the same people who think the 1619 project is history, rather than communist agitprop.

The fact they labeled it a "Confederate-like" flag shows they're aware it's NOT the Confederate flag.
IOW, they're not completely historically illiterate, but they're counting on a plurality -- if not a majority -- of their followers being so.
