I swear, this is not a parody account.
I have no idea who is behind Black Enterprise, but it is fair to say that if they took any history class in school, it was not U.S. history or at least not one without the bullshit rhetoric of BLM/Socialism/etc. in which Betsy Ross and the first flag of the United States is mentioned. And also that the Confederate States of America did not happen to exist till some 84 years after the flag was created.
Couple things.
First, Miguel, you aren't the target audience.
Second ... They don't care if they're correct, or if they sound like idiots to people who actually know a smidgeon of history. They're just, as Miguel points out, going for outrage any way they can. And if the outragee is an historically illiterate dolt they can goad into doing something vile, so much the better.
After all, when you're chumming for monsters, you don't care if the monsters aren't very bright and not well educated.
(Edited to add: it's the monsters they aren't going for intentionally they should be worrying about.)
Anyone could also go to any flag company web site and see the name of the flag. I have a 22-foot above ground pole and fly three flags -- 3x6 current Stars and Stripes, 3x5 any one of an assorted collection of historic U.S. flags, and 2x4 POW/MIA. In close to 20 years I've never had anyone question or comment on the historic flags. Not sue if that indicates indifference or knowledge. Heh.
BTW, on Veterans Day I fly 2x3 of each service with the POW/MIA below. The POW/MIA touches the halyard cleat! On service birthdays I add that service flag to the usual mix.
