make another AR9 heh. 556 ammo is stupid expensive.. 9 is “reasonable”. I bought a .45 AR pistol and made it into a suppressed SBR. I don’t have any 9mm firearms but, 9mm has lots of choices for defensive rounds. and having similar firearms with different calibers can get confusing..9mm-556 ect. jmo

It is cost-savings that will send me the 5.56 way. The 9mm uppers are bastardly expensive.

but from what Im seeing 9mm ammo is half or less the cost of 556. Im converting my 556 M16 to 9mm so it gets played with more.. I don’t see 556 getting reasonable anytime soon

I meant cost-savings for the upper and lower parts. PSA 7.5" in 5.56 is less than half that an equivalent upper in 9mm. And I don't have to hope it will fit the lower or buy and adapter. Snap together and go.

Very nice Miguel, congrats on prevailing to "almost" the end--actually when you have a finished plan you are essentially at the end, been there done that.

So I take it the Missus wants a shoulder fired house gun, and wants it as light and short as possible?? If that's the case I get it.......but if not, why not go with a full-size pistol which holds just as many rounds and has the same length barrel and is lighter than the PCC 9mm.

I'm sure you have already planned for your AR-15 223, what length barrel do you plan to use? I have a custom-built AR-15 SBR in 223 Aero Precision with a Faxon 12.5" barrel which produces less than the best ballistics with most loads, but perfectly serves the size requirements I was dealing with.

However I am thinking about another build using the tested and proven AP upper and lower but this time with the 223 Wylde Barrels. Have you considered the 223 Wylde Miguel?

She is a petite (but fierce) woman and asked me about a shotgun for house defense. She can handle recoil like anybody's business, but regular-sized long guns are a hardship for her. I thought about the Mossberg Shockwave, but I figured a shoulder mounted 9mm with red dot was the way to go. She tested the weight and handling and seemed fitting.

"Petite but fierce" and might I add if I may......more beautiful than all other women combined :D. There I completed it for you Miguel and now that she's got her weapon of choice, well... what's not to love?
