I am not going to post the horrifying video of the poor woman on fire while a cop went back and forth, and the suspect just sat there watching his deed. And the video incidentally was not from the “brand-new security cameras” touted by the Governorness but phone footage of witnesses. About the only good thing the DotGov cameras will do is to serve some juicy images for the upcoming trial of the murdering pyromaniac.
New York City has a long history of denying people the ability to resolve themselves any attack they may suffer in the subway. From the prosecution of Bernard Goetz to harassing Curtis Sliwa and his Guardian Angels when they took it upon themselves to escort the citizens of Gotham against the predators running the underground and streets.
But if the people keep voting for their destruction by re-electing different assholes with the same idiotic principles, let them enjoy it.
"New Yorkers will help you in a flash if you ask for directions" travelers' advice. Not my impression at all and I call bullshit. It is sort of winter, correct? NOBODY in that subway car had a jacket on that they could have used to smother those flames? No? So they just sat/stood there and watched.
While I take small solace in knowing that there are at least two governors in the USA worse than this/my doofus, I can honestly opine there are none stoopider. So that's something.
