Sunday Repose

I saw Evita in Madrid in 1980 or 1981, obviously in Spanish and I was absolutely mesmerized by it. I never got to see the original cast in Broadway and pretty much what remains is a couple of bad videotape transfers in Youtube.

And the movie version with Madona was not even close to a high school performance with kids high on ‘ludes.

And just for kicks, this is Paloma San Basilio who played Evita in the original Spanish cast and I was blessed to see and hear. The clip is from a TV show, but the voice … oh dear God.
