Stupid or Malicious? OK, Both.
Not 30 minutes after I posted "ICE at Airports is pure Nazi crap!", I bump into this idiotic HuffPo piece:
“There isn’t a justifiable reason to deploy ICE agents to the airports, and it inevitably is going to cause fear and additional distrust amongst the flying public,” Deborah Fleischaker, senior adviser for immigration policy at UnidosUS, a Latino civil rights organization
“I don’t think we’ve seen evidence of that yet, but given that ICE agents have been given the go-ahead to use race, ethnicity and language spoken as the grounds to make a stop and do an immigration check, I’m not sure we should feel confident that they won’t be doing that in the airports as well,” Fleischaker said.
Civil Rights Group Warns Of ICE Fueling Fear At Airports
A quick check says she worked at DHS for fourteen years, which should mean she at least has a basic knowledge on how immigration works at airports and specially who does immigration checks at airports since the frigging things started to take on out-of-the-country flights. But she was also a political appointee within DHS during the Biden Administration so that may explain both the idiotic and the lying parts.
And yes darling, you get to use race, ethnicity and language when you check for incoming passengers to ascertain they are who they say they are. It is pretty much like some Sovereign Citizens claiming to be Moroccan but can’t name the capital or speak Arabic, French or Spanish which are the languages used in the country.
It is logic, not racism as you imply.
Addendum: If you are a “Moroccan” Sovereign Citizen, be advised they do have driver licenses in Morocco, so please stop being an idiot and say the opposite.

"... I’m not sure we should feel confident that they won’t be doing that in the airports as well"
Oh hell yes they should, my dear -- whenever the context is that of international travel, in or out, And when it comes to travel within the US, go for it any place where identification is already required.
Logic IS rascist nowadays, isn’t it?
