About 4 or 6 months ago, I made the comment to the Missus that Nashville appeared to be more violent that our old infamous Miami-Dade County. I kept seeing on the local Music City news media about somebody getting shot almost every day and other crimes of violence. I had not delved into research and took it as probably just how things were published here or my not paying attention down in Florida.
Well, it seems my original perception was not wrong:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — New FBI data shows violent crime is hitting two of Tennessee’s largest cities hard.
The FBI ranked Memphis number one in the country for its violent crime rate per capita, with 2,501 violent crimes per 100,000 people. Nashville came in at number eight, with 1,124 violent crimes per 100,000 people, according to the FBI data.
Tennessee's 2 largest cities in FBI top 10 for violent crime
I know that some cities have declined to share data with the FBI so we really do not know how bad they are and how the list would shift, but I agree with a comment Oleg Volk made not too long ago saying that Nashville was getting “spicier” as a reason to not to be unarmed while visiting.
And if the above statement needed any reinforcement:
And the cops now have the kid in black t-shirt arrested because mom happened to see the news and turned his ass in.
Always Carry. Always Be ready.
PS: If you like Country Music and Country stuff, Gatlinburg and Branson, MO are more authentic than Music City and I believe much less dangerous.
TDS inflicted and anti's like to squawk "Red states are more violent hur de hur" yet ignore the fact that almost universally it's due to blue, urban pustules like Nashville and Memphis. Together they account for 20% of the state's pop. but over 60% of the homicides/violent crime.
Trying to get them to explain why, especially since the gun laws are universal across the state, always resorts to the usual insults and looping back to 'red state' repeated ad nauseum.
All of America's cities are rotting from the top down.
