So I am weird.
But that ain't nothing new.
I had a chance to shoot the AF1911 Romulus which is a gorgeous gun.
Sweet trigger, delightful recoil and accurate, it made me look good.
And once again, I am the weird dude in the neighborhood: I simply do not communion with the 1911/2011 format. It is not that I do not like them, but that they feel weird in my hand to the point I am paying more attention to the grip than the target downrange. I know I am shooting well because I can se the impacts, but I am uncertain that I am holding the gun appropriately.
I can’t explain that lack of empathy between the gun and my hand. I know some guns require a bit of getting used to till you feel comfortable shooting them, but I have never been able to achieve that with the 1911. I can “handshake” a Beretta or an FN or even SIG (The P226 felt like it became an extension of my hand) without thinking it twice, revolvers require a bit of positioning but it is understandable as they are such a different animal.
So remember: Be kind to ergonomic mutants. It is not like we do no respect the works of the Holy J.M.B but we can’t.

thats what makes America great, not everyone likes what everyone likes.. I have found some have a hard time with 1911s. some don’t. use what works for you.
I am like that with the M&P Shield line. The grip feels too thin. I do respect them as a quality pistol
