Same with my Series 70 Colt Government Model aka "The Fat Lady" that I bought as a police officer.

(For those who don't understand the joke, the punch line is one kid telling another kid that the opera isn't over until the fat lady sings.)

It's nice to see someone with an optic mounted on the dust cover of an AK pattern rifle who isn't bitching about "SUB MOA" groups not being possible. That ain't what it's for, but she'll do the job (with your tasteful mods) long after we're both gone. Nice rig! :^)

It is not mounted on the dust cover. This rifle came with side mounts and I got a rail for it, one of two that were being US made back then. The original dust cover mounts were atrocious, but then Krebs came out with theirs and they were almost vault doors.

And no AK will give you sub MOA unless you shoot point blank at the target and then, you better have good ammo :D

NICE! I couldn’t see how the rail was mounted. :^) I know you can get an AK to hit MOA, but how many multiples of that $350 price tag is the question, and you ain’t gonna be running Tula through it either. I can’t understand why people forget that WW1 and 2 “battle rifles” mostly had around 4 to 6 MOA, and did the job JUST FINE! :^D

I suppose I should completely abandon my principles and buy one of those godless carbines. For Justin Case.

Naaaaaw. I still have my Russki SKS if I happen upon a case of 7.62 Sov. That at least retains some vestigial civility.

SKS will get the job done.

And you always can get an AR in 7.62 Rusky.

I have a couple in 5.45x39. and a BUNCH of 5.45, bought in bulk when it was around 15¢/round.

If it was good enough for Ivan to kill Taliban I assume it will dissuade fierybutpeaceful folx.

Ah, yes! My choice as well, or was in the People's Republic of NYS. For SHTF use, I like it better than the AR-15.

The original battle carbine that one can clean with diesel fuel and lube with used crankcase oil. Or toss in the pond, retrieve it, swish it in tbe water and it will run. And 7.62x39 will reliably drop a deer if need be.

I was a little puzzled by the way you have your eye protection moved out of the way.

Bought my Romarm WASR-10 from Century Arms around 2003. It was kind of a move up from SKS's. Decided I'd see how tough and reliable they were so other than a post range external wipe down I never cleaned it for 15 years. It never jammed, or in way malfunction. IMO the WASR-10 is king of the AK's. It's perfection right out of the box. It was still perfection when I detail stripped it for a cleaning around 2018.

The only detail was the muzzle brake which is a frigging right handed but never told anybody!

I have unused LH brakes and a damaged RH brake used as thread protector
