I've noted that since a lot of the "firsts" are already covered, they have to get increasingly niche and stupidly specific to keep finding new "firsts".
Soon we'll be congratulating the "first self-published Afro-Latino-Chinese-Antarctican and primarily Swedish-language trans-LGBTQ Furry singer-songwriter-producer-artist" ... because all the rest are already taken. (And it's specifically "Chinese" because someone who met all those criteria was already crowned as the first "Afro-Latino-Asian-Antarctican", but "their" Asian heritage was Korean.)
No doubt they felt they were behind on their DEI quota for the something something category.
I pay as much attention to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as I do to the NY Times, and for the same reason. They’re full of shit.

There is nothing "rock and roll" about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Has not been for years.
