Celia Cruz was amazing. She was the First Lady of Salsa for decades and if you lived near the Caribbean basin, you at least once in your life danced to one of her songs even if you could not dance worth shit. And as a person, she was always the nicest and most delightful individuals with a perpetual smile on her face.
But she was not a Rock musician by any shape, way or form. She was Salsa and anything Afro-Caribbean, not Fender Strat with distortion pedal. But then again the idiots at the RnRHoF can’t help but follow tradition and fuck up over and over again selecting people for obscure reasons.
Give the Queen her own well-deserved throne in the Kingdom of Salsa. Do not make her a token in your bad-designed bullshit realm.

I pay as much attention to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as I do to the NY Times, and for the same reason. They’re full of shit.
