Regarding the NYPD photo: the Ruger pistol is a 9mm, why they think the 22 lr. counts is something only the NYC denizens can fathom. Most of us from Upstate would think "Yikes! Time to go shopping, I'm almost out!"

Regarding the NYPD photo, there's 14 rounds of 9mm lined up (probably to look like a ZOMGHIGHCAPACITYMAGAZINE!!!11!1!!), and 22 rounds missing from the 9mm box. What's the over-under that those 14 lined-up rounds were pulled from that box and arranged for dramatic effect?

What the NYPD calls a "cache", is actually two partial boxes: I count a total of 39 .22LR rounds and 42 9mm rounds, which both usually come in boxes of 50.

For those of us in the gun community, this isn't a "cache", it's a "warm-up".

Then again, what's shown is approximately -- by round count -- what the NYPD issues their officers annually for qualification, so their experience might be a bit skewed.
