And it is starting to bloom.
And apparently four more blooms are to follow.
I was talking with the Missus about how I have seen people online growing/caring for orchids, in micro ecosystems with controlled light, heat, humidity, the best of potting mixes science can create while I keep Mom’s in a hanging basket hanging in the front porch to catch morning sun and trying to remember to water daily. It did feel the shock of transplanting last year which was basically “pulling you from this pot as shoving you in this here basket” but that was about it.
Oh yes, if temps are to drop under 55, it gets brought inside the house and placed either near a window or in Winter, about 7 to 9 feet from a heat source.
I believe it is time I get me an orchid plant for myself. I am thinking in white.
Lovely! Here in TX I have several orchids, but learned the hard way it is too hot and dry for them outside.
