After being represented by Public Defenders, Kilmar Abrego suddenly nets some top lawyers according the the Tennessee Star.
According to the filing, the lead attorney representing Abrego Garcia is now Rascoe Dean, the son of former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean. A longtime federal prosecutor, Dean was employed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee as the deputy chief of the General Crimes Unit as recently as September 2024, when he was listed as a panelist for an event held by the Federalist Society.
Dean entered the private sector on April 1, according to a press release by Sherrard Roe Voigt and Harbison, the Nashville-based lawyers who hired Dean to become “a member of the firm’s litigation group,” where its press release explained he is now engaged in “counseling clients on various business disputes, government investigations, and criminal and commercial matters.”

The way I am reading this, he will be the “local face” as there is another team that joined the defense since the firm he works for does not cover Immigration or “civil rights” cases according to their website.
The filing also shows Abrego Garcia is represented by attorneys Sean Hecker, Jenna Dabbs, and David Patton, who appear to be affiliated with the New York law firm Hecker Fink.
Hecker Fink’s website pledges “a profound a substantial commitment to lawyering in the public interest,” and states that it has “been repeatedly recognized for” its “public interest and pro bono leadership.”
From the Hecker Fink’s website:
We have fought antisemitism. We have helped women reveal and remedy misconduct, and advanced new laws and protections against sexual assault and abuse. We have prevailed at the U.S. Supreme Court in high-stakes election, redistricting, and public health cases—and our amicus briefs have been cited by Justices Sotomayor, Jackson, and Ginsburg. We stand at the cutting edge of advocacy for reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, religious freedom, and immigrants’ rights. Our work paved the way for lasting change in women’s sports, and we negotiated a historic settlement to substantially limit Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law. We proposed groundbreaking, influential measures to hold Russia accountable for violence in Ukraine. We have represented and advised public officials in addressing extraordinary challenges, including confirmation hearings and matters of impeachment, ethics, and the separation of powers. We have fought to address the dangerous (and deadly) scourge of bullying in schools. We have defended life-saving firearms regulations and urged accountability for police misconduct. And we have worked tirelessly for criminal justice, prisoners’ rights, and sentencing reform—not only in state and federal courts, but also in legislatures and Congress and the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
And now the only question that remains is who is footing the bill: Soros or Bloomberg? Because none of the “causes” generate enough money to pat a NYC Legal team full time for any time period longer than a work week.
Nah, they found some taxpayer dollars to cover it through some NGO. Bloomberg and Soros don't spend their own money, just ours.
Nice how they stand in stark opposition to every value I hold on all of these issues. I do so hope they get CRUSHED.
