Lies and Stupidity, but it is redundancy.
At first I thought it was engagement farming since no other outlet had brought it up. But then I found her X account:
And besides being an elected Democratic official, which automatically means levels of capable of high deceit and ignorance, being from Hawaii means she is not having a good time with all the legal challenges to the island’s Gun Control laws right now and somewhat explains the unusual grandiose line of porcine effluvia coming out of her mouth.
The one having more coverage right now is Wolford v. Lopez which is being nicknamed the “Vampire Rule” which means a legally armed citizen needs express consent from the property owner before entering premises. Amazingly, felons cannot be forced to request permission since it would mean they are forced to reveal they are committing a crime (not counting the ones they are about to commit) and that would go against their Right Against Self Incrimination.
Then you have Yukutake v. Lopez:
(decided by the 9th Circuit in 2025), courts struck down requirements such as short expiration windows for handgun purchase permits (e.g., 10-30 days to acquire after approval) and mandatory in-person firearm inspections/registrations, finding them unduly burdensome without sufficient historical analogues.
There are other gun laws facing challenge and have survived within the island with the weird application of the esoteric legal concept of “The Spirit of Aloha”:
But earlier this year, when the Hawaii Supreme Court decided the case of Christopher Wilson—who had been criminally charged under the state’s old firearm laws—the court completely rejected Bruen and the U.S. Supreme Court’s interpretation of the Second Amendment. The state supreme court instead said that “[t]he spirit of Aloha clashes with a federally-mandated lifestyle that lets citizens walk around with deadly weapons during day-to-day activities.”
Goldwater to Supreme Court: ‘Spirit of Aloha’ Doesn’t Trump 2nd Amendment
According to a quick Google AI search: The Aloha Spirit is a foundational Hawaiian philosophy representing the coordination of mind and heart, fostering harmony, warmth, and mutual respect among people. It transcends a mere greeting, emphasizing kindness, generosity, and compassion, and is legally recognized in Hawaii as a guideline for living, encouraging a positive, caring approach to life.
And I leave to your imagination how laws can shifted and shaped like cheap children’s putty according to whatever a judge or as prosecutor decided it goes best with the “spirit” that day or convenience, especially if you are a Haole1 not dumping hard earned cash in the local tourist traps.
Hawaii is not a friendly Gun Place, or pretty much friendly at all under the surface.
It meant foreigner but now is a pejorative for White, Latinos and other light-colored Non-Hawaiians.

If you go and get out of the usual tourist areas, you may well see flags and signs for Hawaiian independence. The movement seems to be gaining ground over the past decade or so, based on what I've observed.
To the main subject. Thinking about it, I believe I would welcome it being harder to (legally) vote than to (legally) buy an assault rifle. Or even an "assault weapon." That's probably not the reaction MH wants to engender, but then *shrug* that's not uncommon with me when it comes to Leftist histrionics.
but aint DEMOCRATS against “registering to vote, voter ID”???
invalid point coming from a fukkin democrat “serving “ in one of the most gun hating states we have…
