Most of the nine men were crewing such craft for the first or second time, making at least $500 per trip, residents and relatives said. The four dead men included a fisherman, a down-on-his-luck bus driver, a former military cadet and a local crime boss. Others included laborers and a motorcycle driver.
“Cocaine is harmless fun!” was the motto back in the last years of the Hippie era and the beginning of the Disco and “Me” revolution. The “Real Junkies” were the bohemian types and of course, Negros who were shooting up heroin. The white stuff was not only OK but sign you were hip, a cool dude or dudette.
Of course, by the time regular people realized that Colombian and Peruvian “sugar” were a danger, the darn powder had taken over and soon crack cocaine would make its grandiose entrance.
But if your hate for the administration is so great, you are willing to downplay the horrific consequences that cocaine inflicted and is still inflicting in the population, you are a soulless scum pretending to be a caring human being.
The concept of “Drug on Wars” is over half a century old, but was never treated fully like a war till this administration and by the amount of shocked faces, not only there is a unhealthy amount of Trump Derangement Syndrome, but I am suspecting that a lot of snow sniffers are the ones protesting the most followed close by by those on the take of the drug cartels, may them be journalists or politicians.
Just a thought.
We could just close the borders instead. With extreme prejudice. But that would get panties in a twist too, and worse, interfere with somebody's graft and corruption.
And the down-on-their-luck poor runners don't have any idea of the dangers that the drugs they are running, pose to the people who are abusing them. Yeah, what's a few Americanos' lives compared to them making a dishonest living.
Well, the rules have changed and if you transport deadly chemicals for our people to abuse and die using, we will kill you. You don't want to die? Don't transport the drugs.
