I have a ‘91 Jeep Wagoneer that had a rear window wiper. the wiper motor had fell apart so I removed it. the hole in the tailgate is where im putting a camera. Im not towing anything with it so it will just be for viewing. onstar can be defeated with a couple layrrs of tin foil over the antenna… or cutting the antenna wire.. ya, all over its screamed at you to not drive distracted and every new pos has a giant TV in it.
Depends on the year... with newer onstar it is best to put in a dummy load in the antenna lead... (It does transmit some stuff, and if it detects a failure it might refuse to start the vehicle.)
They know you don't want it, and are determined to force it down your throat anyway.
Cash for Clunkers failed, and allowed me to keep driving my impossible to track/impossible to spy on pick-up, because Obama underestimated how poor people like me already were. I couldn't afford to trade anything in. I bought my pick-up for 3K!
If you vehicle is old enough to predate engine ECU's and other solid state controls it will likely survive, or at least be repairable after an EMP event.

Make sure you star the items on Gunbroker or other shooting sites so the Missus knows exactly what to get you. Even consider ranking them!
