My guess it is that they are expecting the border to shut down after the election and they want to be inside before any changes are made. My expectation is the Biden Administration will “poison the well and salt the ground” by fully opening the border and prohibiting any kind of immigration controls.

The potential criminal aliens obviously see Trump winning and with that the basically non-existent, wide-open door closing, the wall being finished, more Border patrol officers, with more stringent enforcement orders; including expedited deportation, and mandatory "stay in Mexico" orders - especially of repeat offenders, and the immediate incarceration of known criminals for immediate deportation to home country and returned to the police there.
Undoubtedly, most will arrive in neat and clean clothes (with a few dirty, skinny and dressed in rags for the news cameras), well fed, with fully charged cell phones, and directions to, and letters of introduction to, various sanctuary-style NGO "charities" funded by liberal dark money (sotto voce—SOROS et al.).
