A quick check in social media shows that Gun Control groups have no comment about the Thompson gun gift or the level of contradiction implied in it.
It looks like a civilian semi-auto version of the Thompson. Probably legal as a pistol caliber carbine, and sure to cause uproar to those who can't identify it. They're all full of BS.
It is just a reminder that the operative word in gun control is not "gun"
