Twice I did the rifle clinic and twice I have failed to get the patch, but you can rest assured I will keep trying after the Rifleman patch. If anything, it is a fun weekend to have while learning to properly shoot a rifle.
But come January, I am going to attend a Pistol Clinic and see how close I come to get the Pistoleer patch. Another two days of learning the intricacies of shooting a sidearm which should also be fun.
And if you are wondering why after shooting pistol competitively for close to 15 years, I still treat myself as a novice, it is because I know I still have shortcomings, and I haven’t done squat pistol training or even shooting in the longest.
In other news: I do need to get me an ammo sponsor, the class requires 500 rounds of pistol caliber and in my case that means 9mm.
Readers: “But Miguel, they say you can use a .22LR pistol for the class and the ammo is cheap.”
Me (muttering in shame): “I don’t have a decent .22 pistol, or indecent for that matter.”
I guess that is a hole to be patched sometime next year.
Good luck!
