This is going to be a gigantic clusterflock. A Narco State where Cartels scare people to do pretty much whatever they want will have no problem “electing” judges who will rule the way they want every single time and even make it the law of the land constitutionally. And I am not even including in the mix the politicians trying to add their own fecal influence to the mix.
And again, something like this will be tried after January and they won’t stop till they get it.

There is a point to electing judges, at least at some levels: it's a way to get rid of bad ones. But that assumes the voting populace (a) knows and (b) cares, even before we start to discuss cheating.
