Getting the garden stuff going earlier for a change.
Oregano. Plant is from last year but has survived pretty much everything weather-wise, so it gets pictured first.
Milkweed. Let’s see if it is true it attracts Monarch butterflies. They will go to the front of the house under the living room window.
Cilantro. Because this household does black beans and sorry if you are a soapy palate.
Basil. Yes, that is 20 transplant cups of basil with several plants per cup. Yes, we love basil in this household.
Red bell peppers. Part of my basic cooking and expensive suckers to buy. The missus is fanatical about them. Some are still growing from the seed, but seven were big enough to transplant.
Culantro. Tastes very similar to cilantro, but it is stronger and really not related to it so the soapy mouths can actually indulge in it without feeling they are gargling Palmolive.
Some sort of yellow summer daffodils. Missus bought them and I was instructed to make them ready for August.
Not in the photo around the corner: A boatload of parsley.
One note, I got a box of Legigo 100 Pcs 30mm Seed Starter Peat Pellets Pods for Seedlings just because they were a helluva cheaper than the more famous brands. and I was surprised that they performed much better than its expensive cousins, especially when it came to retain shape while removing the “skin” when transplanting which made the process 10 times easier and faster.
OK, that’s it for now. I just ordered a raised bed in Walmart which will probably hold the peppers and the culantro and I guess also the overflow of basil.
And I have to steal the tiller from Sis in Law for other plant decorative projects.
PS: Shit, I turned into my mom.
PS2: Speaking of Mom, her orchid has four possible blooms in the works. We are in May which down in the tropics is the official orchid blooming month. I shall post photos.
We've come to enjoy cilantro a lot from oriental food like Thai cooking.
Basil -- regular, or hot basil? Hot basil is another common Thai ingredient, wonderful stuff.
We are going to plant the garden today; I swung by Lowes yesterday. This year I bought all heirloom tomatoes, and a few other plants, peppers, cucumbers, etc.
