Diversity is our strength: Beheading attempt in Belfast.

I guess I am one of the last batches of immigrants that came to a new country because I wanted to live differently from where I was. I settled in the U.S. because what stood for and the respect for both the Law and the individual freedoms. I knew from the get-go that striking a perfect balance was utopic because one was in conflict with the other constantly… which is the reason why it works. There is neither full anarchy nor fearful peace under the gun of government and it is that “constant state of unbalance” that makes the U.S.A. a great country.
I accepted the norms and customs because it is the decent thing to do. I was allowed to share the best of my customs with those who wanted them to learn about them, but I never demanded nor expected to impose them on anybody else because that is not the American Way I adopted. And if I were to disagree on something, I could say so without fear of reprisal or cancellation (up and included visit to the morgue table) and even move to other states or go back to my country of origin: nobody holds me back.
The video above is what happens when a country refuses to even set and enforce a basic standard of conduct for its immigrants and even go as far as accepting all traits they may bring and eschew and disdain the things and culture that made the country once a palatable place to live.
And the final result is extremes that are hard to come back from.

There is a difference between immigrants and invaders.
That’s what makes your perspective so very valuable.
