Cuba goes Carbon Neutral and Greta Thunberg loses it.
Bad things happen when oil stops running a country
If your eyes and ears can deal with it, you can watch her most cringe video via "Greta Thunberg attacks the U.S. over Cuba.”
I requested Grok (ChatGPT just could not but make excuses) to give me a transcript of the finger-waving-and-assorted-shaming by Temu Princess Valiant.
“ We need to talk about what’s happening in Cuba right now. As the Trump administration is waging illegitimate wars across the world, killing countless of people, it also strangling Cuban people deliberately, methodically, and openly. The pedophile Trump himself bragged about it saying “There’s an embargo. No oil, no money, nothing.” He said it like something he was proud of. While millions have been plunged into darkness by rolling blackouts, while hospitals lose power, while ambulances run out of fuel, while shelves go empty. The United Nations has warned of imminent humanitarian crisis. Intensive care units and emergency rooms are compromised.”
You know what Cuba has in spades? Sun and wind. I am at a loss as how come the Cuban Government did not invest in solar and wind farms to power at least their most sacred and greatest triumph of the revolution: Universal Health Care Facilities.
Newborns, the elderly, the sick all paying their price. This is not an accident or unfortunate side effect of some policy disagreement. It’s the intended outcome.
Again, it has been almost 67 years since the Cuban Revolution happened, billions of dollars and rubles went to the island, strategic alliances with the Soviets then and now the Chinese, but we still are running a country like it is the cesspool of the Third World… wait, it is one of the cesspools.
Since 1962, US embargo has been designed — in words by U.S. State Department itself — to bring about hunger, desperation, and overthrow the government. Now, the Trump administration is escalating it further, plotting what they themselves have called a takeover of this island.
I wonder how many horses still have to die till they get tired of using the bullshit embargo excuse.
We cannot be silent about this.
Sweet frak, we know by now that you can’t stay silent even if you tried.
Cuba did not stay silent when world needed it. For over 60 years, Cuba sent its doctors to all corners of earth. Cuban medical workers fought Ebola in West Africa. They responded to disasters in Haiti. They trained generations of doctors from all over the world when liberation movements were fighting for independence from colonial rule across Africa.
This is what is called imagination. Cuba’s presence in Africa was to “export” the revolution. First with Che Guevara and then Angola and other nearby places: they all failed miserably and caused deaths galore. And it takes oodles of gall to expropriate the works in Africa of Doctors Without Borders, Caritas Internationalis, Catholic Relief Services and others and assign it to Cuba.
And much of the world was looking the other way, but Cuba stood in solidarity — not just in words, but in action with real material support. Cuba stood up for the world. Now it is time for the world to stand up for Cuba.
If Cuba did anything about Ebola, was to steal medical supplies from those who were actually doing care and risking their lives.
On the 21st of March, Nuestra America convoy arrives in Havana, carrying humanitarian aid by air, land, and sea. That day has been declared the international Day of solidarity with Cuba.
We doing the convoy shit again? This is going to be fun. I wonder how many oil tankers are they going to bring or will it just be another sailboat and small yachts.
I am asking all of you — every friend of peace, every defender of the right of peoples to determine their own futures — to join.
Will you be helping the Cuban people to be allowed to determine their own future by getting rid of the communist cancer of the island?
Wherever you are in the world, go to your local U.S. embassy and make your voice heard. Find your local Cuba Solidarity network.
Just be polite and do not invade the grounds of the embassies or consulates. This ain’t Jimmy Carter times and Marines are itching for some trigger time.
Organize something in your community. Show up. Because the rights of Cuban people to build our society free from siege and economic sabotage is not a matter of partisanship.
I’ll be having some useful actions done on that Saturday. Either gardening, or going to the range or arguing with the Missus about what floor are we going to install.
It is a matter of basic human dignity.
OK, grilling burgers then. It is the first day of Spring after all.
The people in power do not act unless we compel them to. And so now we compel them.
Send me the videos of you and your idiots compelling the Cuban government to get off the necks of the Cubans, promote free and fair elections and maybe we will begin to give a slight sample of shit about what you want. You can also send videos of you being arrested by G2 for counterrevolutionary actions against the Gobierno de Cuba.
Together we say it loudly and clearly: Cuba sí, bloqueo no! (Cuba yes, blockade no!)
Oy, fucking annoying!
PS: Just make sure you guys don’t take fast boats. Never mind, be sure you are in a “fishing boat” with four or five big outboard engines in the stern.

Ah, the old embargo is the reason Cuba can't take care of its own people lie. Ignoring for years that Canada and most of Europe, ignored outright or paid lip service to the embargo. The USSR propped up the Cuban economy for decades, the price? Sending young Cuban soldiers to fight and die in Soviet proxy wars in Africa and South America.
Like all true socialist paradises, "universal" does not mean what you think it means. The party leadership and the military get the lion's share of whatever "universal" services (like health care) and commodities (like food, energy, etc.) are available. The ordinary people get the scraps. Here's a hint about how the people view the Cuban paradise, they are making barely seaworthy vessels, braving Cuban patrol boats and the open ocean to reach the United States. Except for a few delusional "useful idiots" nobody is hopping a plane to Havana to permanently immigrate to the Cuban "paradise."
I understand that the Iranian Navy has a bunch of ships for sale. They'd be ideal for running in the supplies. Already converted to submersibles. Some duct tape maybe required.
