NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Refugees who just arrived in Nashville legally are suddenly in limbo after President Donald Trump ordered a funding freeze for all federal assistance programs.
The president also halted the arrival of refugees who were already cleared to move here.
“It is extremely overwhelming for a new arrival. My own family came to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union in 1993, so I know firsthand how difficult it is,” Max Rykov said.
…
“We welcome those refugees; we pick them up at the airport; we find them their first apartment, their first jobs,” Rykov said.

They are also getting $1,000 just for showing up after they are flown in free of charge. I spent easily three times that getting my paperwork in order with the various Gov entities just to get over here paying for my transportation.
If I can’t get reparations, can I least get a full refund? I figure between the spent monies plus interest, taxes and mental anguish, a cool couple of millions will do.
Cut off the handouts and see how many "refugees" suddenly decide it was not all that terrible in their country of origin after all.
3rd gen American, my great grandparents spent 10 years in South America on their way to the USA after escaping Europe shortly after the turn of the last century. Imagine me having sympathy for the plight of folks expecting to live here as freeloaders and being disappointed.
