Nobody will get fired or even given a slap in the wrist. Some follow-up announcement may be made, but I suspect they will wait till attention is deviated to something else and this eff-up forgotten.
I believe they are apologizing at not reading the room correctly, nothing else.
Funny how the entities that make "missteps" like this, in spite of "steps being taken", still happen.
Perhaps if there were some "professionalism, respect and accountability" to begin with, they wouldn't happen as often in the first place.
They are apologizing for getting caught.
