Because Gun Owners love to rest in laurels not of their own.
I am sad, pissed off but not surprised.
Gun Control Groups Outspending Pro-2A Groups This Time Around – Bearing Arms
I can exactly pinpoint to you where the average Gun Owner decided they did not need to make an effort, less continue to make one: June 23, 2022.
20-843 New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v. Bruen (06/23/2022) (supremecourt.gov)
And you know it is right. It is OK that we celebrated such a momentous decision, but I also saw the same thing I saw after DC v. Heller and then McDonald v. City of Chicago: “We Won! They will now have to quit and I want my NFA guns tomorrow!” and we simply stopped fighting while the opposition didn’t.
If you have spent just 2 minutes not dancing after Bruen, you may have noticed that some Blue States not only did not quit, but actually double down on stupid laws, being the biggest stupid Hawaii’s court saying that the Second Amendment does not apply because the Spirit of Aloha. Add to that several states not only going full stupid with bans and bringing back waiting periods and One Gun A Month limits.
They kept working and we didn’t. They have not only donations, but you bet Bloomberg is still helping plus all the FREE anti-gun advertising they get from Media.
We better get our collective asses in gear, especially with Senate and House elections.
Stop sleeping the sleep of stupidly confident.

complacency breeds failure… the gun community in general is a YUGE disappointment.. yes we shouldn’t have to fight for God given rights. BUT We the People HAVE to. a tiny portion of Americans fight while MILLIONS of gun owners do zip, bupkis, nada except bitch loudly when we lose.. gun grabbers never quit trying to get thier way. we sit around and do nothing to actually protect our rights. this year is THE year, if we don’t do everything we can to win we will be in a REAL fight for our rights. imagine if all the millions of gun owners join a gun rights group..
I donate to the groups that are actually getting results. I no longer donate to the NRA. Not only is the entire organization a fraud to support LaPierre and his lavish lifestyle, but I just don't think that lobbying is where gains are to be made. Right now, the fight is being won in the courts. We need to get as many decisions as we can get with this SCOTUS. It won't last forever.
Instead, I donate to the FPC. Right now, they are doing more for gun rights than any other organization. I make a monthly donation to them for that reason.
