Respect to Law Enforcement is not what it used to be from the Conservative side. The well of understanding and support has been drying up and not because politics but because you guys have refused to stop protect every cop, no matter how dirty or abusive of citizens’ rights he or she might be.
And if you absurdly try to cover all bad cops under the blanket of the actions of good cops, the only thing you get is a dirt blanket and the suspicion that maybe the good cops ain’t, but just haven’t been caught.
You guys have a chance under this administration to clean your respective houses without fear of politization. But if you continue into this protective lockstep of defending bad actors because they got a badge and the rest of us “cannot understand the life of a cop” then you are setting yourself for the community not to give a damn about what happens to you and your department.
Bet they can't name a single convicted cop killer in the list of Trump pardons.
