A World War I Ghost Gun has been discovered!
The gun Tyler Robinson allegedly used to assassinate Charlie Kirk was so old that it predated serial number mandates — making the weapon impossible to track.
The Mauser model rifle, described in texts by Robinson as “grandpa’s rifle,” is a decades-old, German-made gun used in both world wars and on the market years before a law created after the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy mandated weapons to be etched with unique, traceable numbers.
There are believed to be millions of such weapons in homes throughout the country — raising concerns among federal authorities of the potential for other assassins to carry out similar attacks with their untraceable rifles.
Rifle that killed Charlie Kirk was older than serial numbers
My question is: the gun was used by Asshole Tyler Robinson whose father recognized from the photos published by the authorities and it was the rifle that belonged' to the grandfather. What more tracing/tracking do you need?
But wait, there is more. From a link in the same article, we are directed to similar story in NBC “News”:
But the alleged use of such a vintage weapon has raised fears among some former federal agents of the potential for other would-be assassins to seek out these powerful, accurate and hard-to-trace firearms.
“Short of the security afforded to the president, there’s no way to defend against the threat posed by this,” said Scott Sweetow, a retired official with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Charlie Kirk assassin's alleged gun was powerful, vintage and hard to trace
Forget caliber, forget ballistics, forget accuracy and even forget the ability of the shooter. It is the lack of serial numbers that makes a bolt action rifle super duper deadly compared to the ones that sport a number. That is the same ATF logic (or lack thereof) that tells everybody that a rifle with a 16 inch barrel is perfectly safe in the hands of civilians, but a rifle with a 15 and 7/8 inch rifle is so dangerous, the safety of the nation hangs by a thread and can murder millions of nuns and orphans with a pull of the trigger.
But then again we already know the two sources you never trust when it comes to accurate gun information: The Media and Law Enforcement.

It’s nice to be regularly reminded that we live in the stupidest of all timelines.
another example of room temperature IQ news . anything to create “news”.
know nothing morons trying to be “smart”. we had a Luger dated from WWI and golly gee it had a serial number… imagine that
