A thought about the future of Iran.
Weakening the government and its military support is the first step. In fact I would add a total destruction of its navy and access to waters and its air space so the navigation can resume and remain peaceful.
But then we still have to remove the radical assholes (Islamic and otherwise) that have the population under their boot. To take care of that issues, they need to able to take up arms and shoot-blow-dismember the turbaned sumbitches which mean the U.S. should flood the country with weapons and ammunition.
It is time for the Trump administration to plat Lord of War in an accelerated matter and that can be done via a simple deal: We go gun shopping in Mexico.
For those who do not know, the Mexican Military has many warehouses filled to the A-frames with all kinds of weapons confiscated from decades of fighting the Cartels. How many of those weapons get recycled back to the Bad Guys is unknown and probably a nasty ongoing problem. I believe the US Gov should buy those gun at a substantial discount (They are used, right?) and all the confiscated ammo that goes with them plus whatever semi-heavy artillery and home made armor they have in stock and ship the whole thing to the Middle East and start smuggling to the population it in Iran. Then sit back and see what hapens.
And I know there is always the possibility that the Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum (AKA White Nose) complain and refuse to sell which in that case President Trump should let the IRS request companies like MoneyGram, Western Union and all others that do remittances a full and complete investigation as to where those monies go just to kame sure they are not involved in money laundering operations with the Cartels.

If you need to to that, it will require military operations in dozens of countries worldwide. The UK springs to mind, but seriously, you cannot wipe out the blight on humanity that is islam through military force. Until the average practitioner of that so-called religion realizes they are just another of dozens of religions, and trying to dominate the world is a really good way to end up dead, the disease will remain.

Pretty sure drug income far outstrips that.
