I hope this analysis is correct.

I will add my points in another post since I was present in 2 and read about others

This analysis is the most likely outcome. Larry Corriea wrote an analysis of what would happen if Eric Slawell was able to execute his plan to use the US Military to confiscate privately owned firearms. It is very similar, except detailed the role that enlisted would play; non-cooperation and mutiny.

Those high ranking officers did not achieve their rank by being stupid. Quietly fading away and taking bribes is far preferable to engaging in a fight you may lose. Lovers in this case will hang.

The same reasons why Jan. 6 was not a “coup” or an insurrection. Most like an exaggerated 60’s student demonstration. Still stupid and wrong, but not more than that.

The notion of a coup when the armed citizens of the country vastly outnumber any possible body of traitors is just bizarre beyond belief.

As usual, Matthew Bracken has a nice (short story fiction) treatment of the notion, "What I saw at the coup" (in the "Matthew Bracken Collection").

"They're at most going to whine and bitch, wave their colored flags, snivel, and take the Chinese payouts."

I agree. Plus the MSM would likely have a major breakdown as they choose sides, but they would have to do it quickly, the coup side risking a hell of a lot. In any case there would be a lot of smoke and dust stirred up but little else.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people, especially leftist Democrats.
